reports Ryan’s budget sellout shows Democrats still effectively control Congress:
Some did warn that Paul Ryan would be even worse than John Boehner. As the national debt closes in on a doom-ensuring $19 trillion, look what Ryan and his Democrat allies have done:
House leadership allies Wednesday night fought off a last-ditch attempt to add conservative provisions to the $1.1 trillion spending package that would have driven away Democratic votes.
The powerful Rules Committee, which decides how exactly a bill will be structured on the floor, rejected a suite of amendments from the House Freedom Caucus that focused on a range of topics, from national security and abortion to environmental regulations.
Almost all members of the Freedom Caucus plan to vote against the bill, and for excellent reason, considering that these amendments were killed.
Perhaps the most notable amendment was the American SAFE Act, which passed the House on a big, bipartisan vote in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris. It would toughen screening for refugees coming to the U.S. from Syria and Iraq — countries where the Islamic State has a strong presence.
But Democrats said the refugee bill was a nonstarter in the spending talks, and President Obama had threatened to veto any measure that included it.
Regarding the Islamic State and its openly stated tactic of infiltrating the West through the “refugee” hordes, is there any question whose side the Democrat Party is on? Muslims vote overwhelmingly Democrat, and terror attacks can be exploited as pretexts to undermine the Second Amendment, so the more the merrier.
Democrats were expected to supply the majority of the 218 votes needed to pass the spending bill, explaining why GOP negotiators [i.e., Ryan and fellow RINOs] were so intent on keeping controversial, conservative riders out of the final package.
Despite the official numbers, Democrats are not in the minority in Congress. Conservatives are. The majority party is not Republicans. It is the Democrat–RINO alliance, headed by assistant Democrat Paul Ryan.
Also, the deal props up ObamaCare and continues funding the lucrative private abortion/body parts business Planned Parenthood. Naturally it funds Obama’s insane climate deal. It puts the screws to American workers by increasing foreigner worker visas.
As Breitbart notes, it funds DACA amnesty, sanctuary cities, illegal amnesty resettlement, the release of criminal aliens, and tax credits for illegal aliens, and locks in huge spending increases. The one thing it doesn’t allocate funds to is the border fence we were promised.
In general, the budget sellout meets Obama’s priorities, exactly as if Congress were still in Democrat hands despite the clearly expressed wishes of the voters.
A bone was thrown to the GOP by allowing oil exports. That’s not much of a payoff in exchange for sinking the country hundreds of $billions further into debt, but it will suffice thanks to all those Democrat votes Ryan has behind him.
