Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Liberty

Spokane Valley . . . Several events of interest to Constitutionists are coming up in the Spokane area.  One of these will be a live-streaming meeting available online.  More information below.
Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Liberty.  As we enter in the winter holiday season, we tend to be busy with shopping for gifts and celebrations of Christmas – concerts, parties, Christmas Tree Lightings in our communities, family – all these things are good for the soul.   Let us pause, however, and remember other Christmases past, like the winter at Valley Forge, where General George Washington and his troops suffered deeply with cold, lack of shelter, and a lack of basic supplies.  Yet they held on against all odds, and so must we, in what are difficult times for America.

To be eternally vigilant, we must be willing to learn and to join with other groups and organizations in the battle against tyranny, whenever we have common ground.   To this end, we would like to share with you some upcoming events in eastern Washington, which we think are worth investing your time and energy. We hope to meet with you at one of them, or chat with you during our online streaming meeting.

Yours in Liberty,

State Chairman
Constitution Party of Washington

FRUSTRATED WITH POLITICS?

William Jasper, senior editor of the New American magazine (a John Birch Society publication), will cover the topics of Idaho’s refugee resettlement plan, the unsustainable explosion of federal debt, the cost to taxpayers for fighting global warming, the takeover of the internet, and the continuing campaign of the United Nations to take over your life.

Constitution Party podcaster Cynthia Davis (Home Front) interviewed Mr. Jasper earlier this year on the topic of “Obamacare and Fast Track: What’s Wrong with Congress?”   You can listen to that interview here.

December 5:
Center for Self-Governance Level One Class in Stevens County
Location and Time TBA
Check their website for more information.

Mark Herr, one of the founders of the Center for Self-Governance is a resident of Republic, Washington and was the keynote speaker at the recent Constitution Party National Committee Meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico.   The Center teaches unconventional, tried and tested techniques in applied civics proven to work time and time again.  CSG training puts you the citizen, in the drivers seat of self governance.  You choose the issues, candidates, and agendas to address, just as our government of, by,  and for the people was designed.

The Constitution Party Executive Secretary Cindy Redburn has gone through this training and has been actively using it to fight ordinances in the St. Louis, Missouri area.  Here is a link to a presentation she made at the National Committee Meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in April 2015: Center for Self-Governance.

We plan to begin the series on “The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate” by Pastor Matt Trewhella. This is a teaching on the principle of lesser magistrates intervening, or “interposing,” between the higher magistrates and the people in order to uphold the rule of law and protect the people when the higher powers go astray. This is an important concept and it leads to an equally important question that voters should ask themselves before choosing a candidate, i.e. “if elected, will this person use their position to intervene to protect my rights?” But first, voters and candidates alike need to understand this concept and determine for themselves where the lines are drawn. This is a opportunity for citizens and elected officials to learn and discuss together the when, where, how and correct application of this important concept.

Cynthia Davis also interviewed Matt Trewhella for her Home Front podcast. Listen here for a good introduction to the principles we will be learning.

We plan to live-stream this meeting so everyone in our state can have an opportunity to participate and make comments through the chat system.   We will send another email closer to the event with details on how you can access the live feed.   Last month’s meeting was live-streamed and the archive copy can be viewed here:  November 2015 Meeting

if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.
