40% Of Americans Think We’re Losing The War On Terror

For the first time since September 11th, 2001, the American people are not confident in the U.S.A.’s role in the war on terror.

According to a CNN/ORC poll, 40% of Americans believe the terrorists are winning the war on terror.

These numbers are disheartening and say a lot about our leadership and the decisions they’ve made. 80% of Americans polled think America is losing this war, which could make it quite easy for someone with a stiffer strategy to get elected in the 2016 Presidential election.

There is an overwhelming disapproval regarding America’s war on terrorism, and the government’s ability to prevent terrorist attacks on American soil.

This poll comes in the wake of the Paris and San Bernardino terrorist attacks.
52% of respondents also indicated that they disapprove of President Obama’s handling of the presidency as a whole.

Here is the methodology of the polling:

A total of 1,018 adults were interviewed by telephone nationwide by live interviewers calling both landline and cell phones. Among the entire sample, 29% described themselves as Democrats, 24% described themselves as Republicans, and 47% described themselves as independents or members of another party. All respondents were asked questions concerning basic demographics, and the entire sample was weighted to reflect national Census figures for gender, race, age, education, region of country, and telephone usage. Crosstabs on the following pages only include results for subgroups with enough unweighted cases to produce a sampling error of +/- 8.5 percentage points or less. Some subgroups represent too small a share of the national population to produce crosstabs with an acceptable sampling error. Interviews were conducted among these subgroups, but results for groups with a sampling error larger than +/-8.5 percentage points are not displayed and instead are denoted with “N/A”.

What do you think of this?

Does it concern you, or are you not too surprised at the results?
