California Governor Lashes-Out at Arizona and Nevada for Abiding By the Second Amendment

The Second Amendment is one of the few laws that does and should apply to all fifty states. Even the most-ardent states’ rights supporters can agree that there is a need for federal government, but that that government should be severely limited. The Second Amendment, like the First Amendment, should not vary state-by-state but be a uniform right that exists throughout the U.S.

Sadly, not all states abide by the Second Amendment and as one crosses imaginary lines on a map, he or she will be entitled to varying constitutional rights.

California is surrounded by states that recognize the Second Amendment. Arizona, Nevada and Oregon all maintain a hands-off approach to constitutional infringements upon the right to bear arms. California, however, remains awash in gun violence even as they continue their decades-long failed experiment with rabid gun control measures.

Unbelievably, in the wake of the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California, both President Obama and California Governor Jerry Brown have tried desperately to focus attention on gun control instead of the failures to recognize the dangers of radical Islam by both the federal and California government.

While attending a climate change conference in France, Gov. Brown lashed-out at his neighboring states and cited their gun laws as contributing factors to the violence in California.

The Sacramento Bee reports:

Gov. Jerry Brown said Saturday that “wide open” gun laws in Nevada and Arizona are a “gigantic back door through which any terrorist can walk,” while he was noncommittal on efforts to strengthen gun control measures in California.

Brown, arriving in France for climate talks after the mass shooting in San Bernardino last week, called the shooting a terrorist attack.

The guns used were purchased legally in California before being modified, authorities have said.

Asked if stricter gun control laws were warranted, as some activists have argued, the fourth-term Democrat replied, “California has some of the toughest gun control laws of any state. And Nevada and Arizona are wide open, so that’s a gigantic back door through which any terrorist can walk.”

Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik purchased these rifles legally in California. The weapons had fixed magazines due to a California-mandated alteration known as a “bullet button.” The terrorists altered the weapons and made them illegal and used the weapons to destroy lives in the name of Allah.

So, to summarize:

Terrorists purchased California-compliant firearms in California legally and then proceeded to illegally modify these weapons in violation of California laws and illegally carry these weapons before murdering 14 innocent people in a California “gun-free zone” and according to California Governor Jerry Brown, the problem in this scenario is the adherence to the Second Amendment favored by Arizona and Nevada.

But hey, what should we expect from a man who travelled halfway around the world to politicize the weather?

if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.
