How This Christian College Just Responded To Calif. Shooting Will Enrage Liberals

As with virtually every other highly publicized act of gun-related violence in recent years, the reaction from many leftists – including Barack Obama – to last week’s terror attack in San Bernardino, Calif., was a call for stricter gun control laws. For many other Americans, however, the realization that the U.S. is not immune to Paris-style attacks by Islamic radicals was a wake-up call to take their safety into their own hands.

Days after Black Friday saw a record-number of gun-purchase background checks, the brutal death of 14 Americans – and injury to many more – prompted members of the law enforcement and other communities to encourage other citizens to follow suit.

The head of one prominent Christian university chimed in with a controversial message for the students on campus.

“I’ve always thought,” Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. said during an assembly Friday, “if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in.”

He ridiculed Barack Obama’s notion that “the answer to circumstances like that is more gun control.”

The time has come, Falwell said, for Americans to arm themselves.

“If some of these people at that community center had had what I have in my back pocket right now,” he said to thunderous applause, going on to wonder if it is “illegal to pull it out.”

Falwell encouraged students to likewise exercise their Second Amendment rights.

“Get a permit,” he said. “We offer a free course.”

He went on to address subsequent criticism that his remarks appeared to be anti-Muslim. According to Falwell, he was only referencing terror suspects Syed Farook and Tshfeen Malik.

“There are many good Muslims,” he clarified.
