Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro called President Barack Obama’s stated intention to use executive action on gun control “the most dangerous threat facing America.” Rather than blaming guns, “why don’t you start shooting terrorists? [emphasis added],” she questioned.
Pirro pointed out that the president’s views regarding the matter are being driven by a “liberal ideology,” and added that his judgment overall on issues involving security should be doubted. She offered Obama’s public pronouncements of ISIS as the “jayvee team,” “Al Qaeda on its knees” and the Taliban in Afghanistan in retreat as evidence in her case.
Related Stories In the judge’s assessment, if Obama has his way, the people of the United States will be “Up a creek, not just without a paddle, but without a gun. At a time when we face the biggest threat we have ever confronted with, our commander-in-chief is on an anti-Second Amendment crusade to take away our guns,” she said.
Pirro noted that in the aftermath of Sandy Hook in 2013, the president took 23 executive actions related to guns which did nothing to stop the shootings that have happened since, including those in Chattanooga, Oregon and San Bernardino.
“In France, where gun are among the most restrictive in the world, innocents were slaughtered like lambs,” she said.
Radio talk show host Laura Ingraham¹ observed on Fox News Sunday that none of the mass shootings over the last several years would have been averted by the actions that Obama proposes.
In his weekly address Saturday, the president said, “We know that we can’t stop every act of violence. But what if we tried to stop even one? What if Congress did something – anything – to protect our kids from gun violence?” Of course, some say, the opposite could just as easily be argued: if one act of violence can be stopped by law-abiding citizens able to freely exercise their Second Amendment rights, shouldn’t policies that support that outcome be pursued?
Pirro sought to refocus the president on the problem at hand. “Mr. President, the issue is terrorism, not mass shootings,” she said “Instead of blaming guns, why don’t you start shooting terrorists? Now maybe you don’t have time to focus on this, because you’re too busy emptying Guantanamo and trading deserters for Taliban generals,” the judge stated.
¹ Frankly I was surprised when Laura Ingraham acknowledge that ONLY CONGRESS has authority under the Constitution to write law. She was correct. But then she turns around when asked “how” that would be challenged she said “in the courts.” Per my MEME below, that is insanity.
It is the rightful place of the STATES to refuse to cooperate with any and all federal overreach.
It is like having a quarrel with someone and asking another one of their family members to mediate your dispute. Who do you think will win?
