Gun Background Checks vs Voter ID Laws Brilliantly Compared [MEME]

Via Robert Gehl:

Barack Obama has some good news for you.

The good news is that his flunky, Attorney General Loretta Lynch tells him that yes, he has the constitutional authority to unilaterally impose new gun control laws on American citizens.

Isn’t that great?

His autocratic move will come at a big ceremony later this morning.

“The good news is that these are not only recommendations that are well within my legal authority, and the executive branch, but they’re also ones that the overwhelming majority of the American people, including gun owners, support and believe in,” Obama said Monday. “So over the next several days we’ll be rolling out these initiatives. We’ll be making sure that people have a very clear understanding of what can make a difference and what we can do, although we have to be very clear that this is not going to solve every violent crime in this country.

“It’s not going to prevent every mass shooting. It’s not going to keep every gun out of the hands of a criminal. It will potentially save lives in this country and spare families the pain and the extraordinary loss that they’ve suffered as a consequence of a firearm being in the hands of the wrong people. I’m also confident that the recommendations that are being made by my team here are ones that are entirely consistent with the Second Amendment and people’s lawful right to bear arms, and we have been very careful recognizing that, although we have a strong tradition of gun ownership in this country, that even those who possess firearms for hunting, for self-protection and for other legitimate reasons want to make sure that the wrong people don’t have them for the wrong reasons.”

His “package” of executive orders (Yes, there’s so much to this, it’s called a “package”) forces background checks for internet sellers and sellers at gun shows, requires background checks for guns purchased through corporations and budgets more money to track down all you nasty gun-owning citizens.

No Law At All unless Congress makes it...

Only CONGRESS Makes Laws!

Article VI Clause 2

Article VI Clause 2

Editor:  Let’s set aside weather or not Obama’s gun control plans are in and of themselves “constitutional.”  Even if they were his method of implementation IS NOT CONSTITUTIONAL.  Under Article 1 Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution ALL LEGISLATIVE POWERS ARE GRANTED TO CONGRESS and ONLY CONGRESS.  There are no provisions for Congress to endow legislative power to any branch of government or person.  The legislation entered into the U.S. Code authorizing limited “Executive Action” is therefore unconstitutional.  Since After you subtract ALL from anything nothing is left there is no legislative authority for the Judiciary either, they cannot make law.  Congress has already soundly rejected Obama’s wishes for Gun Control and they alone have the authority to make law.  The law Congress makes is, along with the Constitution itself, the law of the land PROVIDED IT IS IN PURSUANCE to (or in harmony with) the U.S. Constitution.  Instead of exploring the minutia of Obama’s “executive action” which only venerates an unlawful act, we should dismiss it out of hand, the states should interpose and reject compliance or support in anyway with this unconstitutional act of a lawless president.

if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.
