A prominent Republican is pushing Congress to file Articles of Impeachment against Barack Obama, claiming his is a “winning strategy” to defeat Hillary in November.
Dave Agema, a RNC committeeman from Michigan is circulating the resolution, drafted by the North American Law center. It will apparently be voted on during the January 13 meeting of the Republican National Committee.
There are 48 “criminal charges” alleged in the document and the first ten allege that Obama has engaged in a cover-up to conceal his “true identity.”
“(The resolution) has no binding requirements in it,” Agema told MLive. “It’s basically just requesting that our GOP leaders do what the grassroots have been yearning for and show a little backbone and stand up to the Obama Administration.
“We’re a nation of laws and (Obama) has to abide by the law like everyone else. He has blurred that separation of power consistently. Are we doing it right by just letting them get away with this? Our grassroots is looking for leadership.”
This is long overdue. I will introduce a resolution at the January RNC meeting to do this. We only need one representative with the guts to initiate this process and do great harm to Hillary’s presidential bid.
Agema said once the resolution is introduced, Hillary would undoubtedly be hurt. “I think Hillary through this will be implicated as a co-conspirator,” Agema said. “There would be a lot of pressure on Democrats to see what she’s been involved with.”
“Recently, we didn’t own the House and the Senate, but Republicans do now, and the purpose of it really is we’re a nation of laws and separation of powers.” he said. “It lets the president, Obama, know that we’re not going to put up with his ability to go around the Constitution. Secondly, it warns any future president that he doesn’t have that right either, and it encourages the base to get involved.”
Last month, Donald Trump said he disagreed with filing impeachment charges against Obama – especially this late in the game.
“The best thing that we have going with Obama is that he’s got a year left,” Trump said during an interview with Alex Jones.
“So don’t make him a martyr?” Jones asked.
“In a way you’ll make him a martyr,” Trump responded.
