Police Confirm Plan To Murder Officer “For Islam”

After law enforcement confirmed that suspect Edward Archer, accused of the attempted execution of a Philidelphia police officer, claimed to have made the plans “in the name of Islam,” Mayor Jim Kenney said that the shooting had nothing to do with Muslims or Islam.

“This is a criminal with a stolen gun who tried to kill one of our officers,” he added. “[It] has nothing to do with being a Muslim or following the Islamic faith.”

Watch the video below:

Edward Archer is suspected of sneaking up on the marked patrol vehicle of 33-year-old Jesse Hartnett and firing 13 shots into the driver’s side window.

Luckily, only three of those bullets hit the officer in a non-fatal area.

Hartnett was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery.

He is reported as being “awake” and “coherent” at this time.

Law enforcement are also saying that the firearm used in the shooting was stolen and does not belong to Archer.

Do you agree with the Mayor that this attempted murder was not done for Islam, or do you think he’s trying to cover for the suspect?

if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.
