When the mainstream media references the far-right, they often like to pretend that mistrust of government is indicative of a conspiracy-minded, paranoid delusion.
The truth is that those who actually trust the government- conservative or liberal- are the truly delusional. Though government in America has always operated with a fluctuating level of secrecy, it is purely undeniable that for decades, Americans have not been in firm control of our national destiny or administrative system.
It was true under George W. Bush and it is especially true under Barack Obama, a man no longer contented with even pretending to operate under the constraints of the Constitution.
However, while citing an adversarial relationship with government is perfectly rational in today’s times of oppression, one can still go too far with their paranoia.
Case-in-point: Michael Moore has claimed that the government is poisoning the water of black and poor people in America.
On Saturday, President Obama issued an emergency declaration for Flint, Michigan, to address water contamination in the area.
In April of 2014, Flint switched water sources to the Flint River to save money. The Flint River water was reportedly saltier and channeled through corroded lead pipes which leached lead into the system. Recent tests have shown an increased amount of lead in residents. The city switched-back to the old system in October after the crisis was discovered.
On Friday, to address the water contamination, Governor Rick Snyder requested the federal emergency declaration and as a result, FEMA will be delivering water filters, water, test kits and other emergency items for three months.
“I have pledged to use all state resources possible to help heal Flint, and these additional resources will greatly assist in efforts underway to ensure every resident has access to clean water resources,” Snyder said in a statement.
Liberals have pounced-upon the crisis to highlight the value of government and 2016 Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has insisted that Snyder knew of the dangerous situation long before addressing it.
Flint’s most-obnoxious resident, propagandist Michael Moore, has latched-onto the crisis to remain politically relevant and joined a protest on Monday and insisted that the unfortunate situation arose not from governmental mismanagement, but as an orchestrated effort to poison the poor and minority communities.
“This is not a mistake,” Moore said about the crisis. “Ten people here have been killed because of a political decision.”
“They did this. They knew.”
Moore claimed that the crisis would be Snyder’s “Katrina” and that Flint would be Obama’s “New Orleans” unless the president promptly came to visit the city.
Moore also called the city a “crime scene” and alleged that the problem never would have occurred in a “white city.”
“They would never do this to West Bloomfield. They would never do this to Ann Arbor. They would never do this to Farmington Hills.”
“Let’s call this what it is. It’s not just a water crisis. It’s a racial crisis. It’s a poverty crisis. That’s what created…
