Hugh Hewitt To Ann Coulter: You Can’t Just Make Stuff Up About Ted Cruz’s Eligibility To Be President [VIDEO]

Discussing the firestorm that erupted in response to Haley’s rebuttal to President Obama’s State of the Union, Hewitt said, “I think [you] Ann Coulter started all this. I think this is on you, Ann.” (RELATED: Limbaugh: Nikki Haley Is Proof Elites Are Trying To Decide Who Is And Who Isn’t Qualified To Be A Republican [AUDIO])

“No, that’s crazy. I’m not the only one who reacted that way,” Coulter said. “When she’s [Haley] saying, specifically talking about Muslim immigration, and saying well, we just need to vet them, but we can’t look at religion, well, how are you going to vet them?”

Emanating out of that discussion, Hewitt and Coulter began a dueling conversation over immigration leading Hewitt to say “we’re cross-talking now. But let me go back to the key thing. I want to talk about Ted Cruz.”

Hewitt asked Coulter what she thought about Cruz’s eligibility to be president and Coulter said, “I’ve always thought he wasn’t natural born.”

However, Coulter said Cruz is just a  “citizen. He’s not natural born. You cannot be natural born unless you are the child of an ambassador, or if we were in a monarchy, but we’re not, a child of the king himself.”

Hewitter interjected, “Ann, you can’t just make stuff…”

“Ambassadors,” Coulter chimed in, cutting Hewitt off, “I would assume, this is a case that hasn’t been ruled on, that the children of military, somebody serving in the military is natural born. But other than that, not born on U.S. soil, you’re not natural born.”

“Ann, and I respect that you hold this position forcefully, but would you acknowledge that you are a minority of about three,” Hewitt asked.

Standing her ground, Coulter insisted, “The law is the law, and I don’t care how many people agree with me.”

Hewitt maintained that it “isn’t close to unclear. He’s absolutely a citizen.”

Despite sparks flying between the two talk radio titans, Hewitt and Coulter were still friendly and Hewitt ended the interview saying “it’s always a pleasure, talk to you soon.”
