2 faith-based films in weekend top 5

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Two faith-based films are ranked among the top 5 ticket sellers at the weekend box office.

In its debut weekend, “God’s Not Dead 2” opened in fourth place with $8.1 million. The first “God’s Not Dead” film in 2014 had a stronger debut, earning to $9.2 million on about half as many screens and went on to gross more than $60 million.

Placing fifth at U.S. and Canadian theaters this past weekend was “Miracles From Heaven,” which took in $7.6 million, bringing its three-week total to $46.8 million.

The weekend’s top 3 films were “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” ”Zootopia” and “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.”
