But she still likes Trump?
See it’s going all crazytown in Washington DC. The presumed Republican nominee for president has appointed a guy with ties to George Soros as his finance chairman. An outed socialist has a legitimate (if long) shot at winning the Democratic nomination. And Mary Matalin (I worked on her show at America’s Voice as an intern) who worked closely with George Bush 1, George Bush 2, and Dick Cheney just registered as a Libertarian. With a big L.
I don’t know if this is a coup for the Libertarians or something with which to be concerned. But the Libertarians will never gain top level recognition without at least some folks like Matalin finding their way into the fold.
“Let me make this clear here, Mark and my friends there. I am never Hillary, I am always liberty,” she said. “As you know, and I’ve said it publicly here and in many places, after two successive blowout elections for conservatives with a non-response from Washington, a lot of conservatives are angry with the party. The party was falling apart. I can still vote for Republicans. I will never vote for Hillary and never trump means always liberty. Hence, Libertarian.”
“But Mary, you’ve left the Republican Party,” Halperin said, asking again whether it really did not have anything to do with Trump.
She responded, “I said I’m provisional. I’m a provisional Trumpster. I don’t know enough about Trump. I know, like, three things about his economic policy. We know everything we need know about Hillary.”
