Roger Stone Erupts on CNN After Mueller Report: Jake Tapper ‘Must be Held Accountable for His Lies’

Whatever else special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation does, it has sparked a tweetstorm from Roger Stone, who lashed out Friday night at CNN and Mueller.

Much of Stone’s ire was focused on CNN host Don Lemon, with more than a little left over for CNN’s Jake Tapper.

Stone, a staunch ally of President Donald Trump and a former adviser to his campaign, did not explain why he chose those targets.

On Friday, CNN and other media outlets reported that the first indictment had been made in Mueller’s investigation of the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia.

The initial wave of reporting did not identify who was being indicted, or what the charges might be.

Most reports indicated that the person being indicted would be arrested on Monday.

Stone sent a tweet at Tapper, saying, “@jaketapper must be held accountable for his lies and very severely punished.

He then turned his sights on Lemon, telling him to “stop lying about about the Clinton’s and Uranium.”

Stone said Lemon must be must be “confronted, humiliated, mocked and punished.”

Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and former national security adviser Michael Flynn have been often mentioned as key targets of Mueller’s investigation.

Manafort, who was Trump’s campaign manager for several months, did extensive consulting work for the pro-Russia government of Ukraine.

Manafort did not officially report that consulting work until this summer.

Flynn was being paid by Turkey to represent its interests while he was also working with the Trump campaign, and did not report that at the time he was being paid.

The Mueller probe has been roundly opposed by many Trump supporters, who believe that there is nothing to find and that the investigation is political in nature and is only being used to tarnish Trump.
