Tenth Amendment Center: Interview: Back to the Basics on the Tenth Amendment and Nullification
Last week, I appeared on the Sean Burke Show which airs on WSMN 1590 in New Hampshire. The interview was something of a back to the basics discussion on the Tenth Amendment and nullification.
We talked about the purpose of the Tenth Amendment and why it was included in the Bill of Rights in the first place, which led to a more general discussion about the intended limited role of the federal government and the importance of decentralization. Of course, the original constitutional system has been flipped on its head. Instead of a limited general government leaving most power and authority to the states and the people, today Washington D.C. dictates almost everything, from how much water we have in our toilets to the kinds of light bulbs we can screw into our fixures. Fortunately, James Madison gave us a blueprint to fight back against federal overreach. I explain Madison’s strategy and how we’ve put it into practical effect.
